Apple Fitness+ is a fitness service available only with Apple. You can choose from a catalogue of video and audio workouts and meditations led by expert trainers who also help curate music playlists for even more motivation.
Available later this autumn, all you need is iPhone 8 or later to subscribe to Apple Fitness+. You can also subscribe with Apple Watch Series 3 or later paired with iPhone 6s or later. To get the newest features, make sure your devices are using the latest software versions.
With iPhone, you can have a great Fitness+ experience with onscreen coaching, timers and trainer callouts, while also tracking your estimated Move ring progress. With Apple Watch, you also get real‑time personalised metrics onscreen, like your heart rate and the calories you burn, in every workout. And you can track the progress of all three Activity rings onscreen and see celebrations when you close them.
You can find Apple Fitness+ in the centre tab of the Fitness app on iPhone. For Apple Watch, you can find Fitness+ Audio Workouts in the Workout app and Fitness+ Audio Meditations in the Mindfulness app. For iPad, the Fitness app is available for iPhone or Apple Watch users to download from the App Store. The Fitness app is also available on Apple TV.
Yes. Fitness+ is created for everyone, from beginners to advanced users, with modifications to turn the level of intensity up or down in every workout. You choose the type of workout, the time and the trainer — it’s totally up to you. There’s also a Program called Workouts for Beginners for anyone who wants to learn the basics.

It depends on the workout you choose. While most don’t require any equipment, for some you may need things like dumbbells, a yoga mat, an exercise bike, a rowing machine or a treadmill. Other helpful equipment might include iPhone stands, yoga blocks, resistance bands, or a meditation cushion or mat. You can use any brand of equipment at home or in the gym.

With watchOS 7.3 or later and iOS 14.5 or later, Fitness+ users can stream audio and video from Fitness+ workouts to AirPlay 2–enabled TVs and devices. However, to see onscreen metrics like timers, trainer callouts, heart rate, Activity ring celebrations and Burn Bar positions on AirPlay 2–enabled TVs and devices, you’ll need to update to watchOS 9 or later and iOS 16 or later. And confirm your device is compatible with onscreen metrics.
As with all of Apple’s products and services, we have designed Apple Fitness+ with privacy in mind and to give you control over your information. All your Fitness+ workout recommendations are powered using on-device intelligence. And when you use Apple Fitness+, neither calories nor the workouts and trainers you choose will be stored along with your Apple ID.
If you purchased a new Apple Watch Series 3 or later, you can try Apple Fitness+ free for 3 months. The offer can be redeemed on your iPhone.
