App Categories
App categories help us determine the type of apps our users are building. If you are submitting your app for App Review, you will be asked to select a category for your app. You can choose an app category by navigating to App Dashboard > Settings > Basic and using the Category dropdown menu.
This document describes the available categories to help you when choosing an appropriate category.

Business and Pages | Apps created to help businesses with sharing, collaboration, and planning. | Apps related to package tracking, remote desktop, and email management. Page apps. |
Community & Government | Apps that support local events, local organizations and associations, government agencies, and political organizations. | Legislation tracking apps. |
Education | Apps that are focused on teaching skills and subjects. | Apps teaching arithmetic, alphabet, writing, solar system, vocabulary, colors, geography, astronomy, and crafts. Apps related to early learning and special education, language learning, standardized test prep, school portals, and pet training. |
Entertainment | Apps designed to entertain the user. These apps can contain audio, visual, and other types of content. | Apps related to television, movies, music, books, fan clubs, theatre, ringtones, voice manipulation, ticketing services, and art creation. |
Apps where the primary interaction is to play a game. Games can be single or multiplayer. A subcategory must be selected for Games. | Action, bingo, board, builders, card, card battle, match 3, poker, puzzle, role playing, runner, simulation, slots, sports, strategy, trivia, and word. | |
Lifestyle | Apps that focus on lifestyle and personal improvement, including blogs. | Apps related to religion, travel, blogs, parenting, fashion, home improvement, health, and fitness. |
Messaging | Apps that connect people to people through text, photos, voice, and videos. | Text messaging, voice messaging, video communication, photo and video sharing apps. |
Messenger Bots for Business | Apps that connect businesses to people through Messenger bots. | Alerts, subscription, business information apps. |
News | Apps that focus on current event topics such as politics, entertainment, business, science, technology, etc. | Network news and daily news apps. |
Quizzes and Horoscopes | Apps that generate personalized results based on a series of questions or your social profile. | Quiz, horoscopes, and prediction apps. |
Shopping | Apps related to shopping and purchasing goods. | Find and purchase goods apps. Product review apps. |
Social Networks & Dating | Apps that connect people to networks. | Dating apps, professional networks, and social networks. |
