How long do apps and games have access to my information?
You can also filter between active apps, expired apps or apps you've removed from your account by clicking Active, Expired or Removed at the top.
If an app or website is:
  • Active: You've recently logged into these apps or websites and they can currently request the info you choose to share with them at any time.
  • Expired: You've logged into these apps and websites with Facebook, but it appears you haven't been active for more than 90 days. In some cases, an app or website may be marked as expired by Facebook. They may still have access to info you previously shared, but their ability to make additional requests for private info has expired.
  • Removed: These are apps and websites you removed from your account since 2015. They may still have access to info you previously shared, but can't make additional requests for private info. Learn how to remove an app or game you've added.
Note: Keep in mind that app and website developers may still have access to the data you previously shared. You can contact the app or website developer for more information.

Your app visibility setting controls who on Facebook can see that you use an app.
To adjust who can see your activity in an app:
  1. Go to your app settings.
  2. Click the name of the app.
  3. Go to Who can see you use this app? and use the audience selector to adjust who can see your activity.
Your selected audience may see the following:

  • Help you find friends that also use the app or game.
  • Make the app more interesting or relevant to you.
  • Make it easier to share things with people on Facebook.

What information can apps see on Facebook?
Keep in mind when you sign in with Facebook on an app, you give it permission to access:
  • Your name, username and user ID (account number).
  • Your profile pictures.
  • Networks you have connected to.
  • Any other information you make public on your Facebook profile.
You can choose to give the app other information to personalize your experience, including your friends list, gender, age range and locale. An app may ask for more information later if you’re using a feature of the app that requires it.

If you block someone on Facebook, you'll still be able to see things that person has created within an app. You shouldn't be able to interact with that person and they shouldn't be able to interact with you in the app.
Keep in mind that apps aren't built by Facebook and are operated by outside developers. If you're still able to interact with someone you blocked on Facebook within an outside app, please contact the app developer.
Facebook isn't responsible for the support provided by developers, but we work to make sure that all outside developers are following our Terms of Service. If you find that a developer isn't responding to your questions, please report the app.

Although Facebook doesn’t control the support provided by app developers, we work to make sure that all outside developers follow our policies. Please report the problem to the app developer directly. If you don’t get a satisfactory response, please report the app to us.
We recommend that you block the app and the person who's harassing you. This will prevent them from seeing your information or contacting you in any way on Facebook. They won't be notified that you've blocked them.

App passwords are one-time passwords you can use to log into your apps while keeping your personal Facebook password secure. If you have two-factor authentication turned on, you won't have to wait to receive a code when you use an app password. Instead, you can skip the authentication step and log in immediately.
To get an app password:
  1. Go to your Security and Login Settings.
  2. To the right of App passwords, click Add.
  3. Click Generate app passwords > Generate App Passwords and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: We'll save a list of the apps you generate app passwords for, but we won’t save the passwords. If you log out of any of your apps, you should generate a new password.
