From Russia with love
Guys, hiii !!
Straight to the point !!
I’ve been listening to your awesome, superb and spectacular podcast for quite a while now...
But I’d really appreciate your recording an episode on the topic of American spies...
Maybe some idioms that people who work for the intelligence services use...
I know a couple of idioms like: Jack in the box or Saturday night’s special (meaning a gun)
Needless to say, there are loads of them (spy related idioms) out there I’m sure, but maybe you could come up with some really great ones ?!
It’s such a fascinating topic I think
Anyways, keep on doing your great work.
Might be too loud
Hi girls! I’m Russian and ‘be been listening to your podcast for quite a while. On the whole it’s informative and helpful. But it gets way too annoying when Jessika starts speaking as if she’s about to explode with emotions right away. Could please cool down a bit. I understand it’s a cultural think. I mean, it’s an American thing to say ordinary things as if they were always SUPER exciting. But what if it sounded a bit insane for people from other cultures. Have you ever thought of that? Not to mention, this style may distract your listeners from important things you’re saying. Seriously, why always scream and speak as if you were watching a soccer game and your team were about to score the final goal. Please, please, please consider doing something about the style you present your information.
Question
Hi Lindsay and Michelle! My name is Iryna. I’m from Kiev, Ukraine. Thank You for Your great job. I am on maternity leave now and for my developement i decided to study English. So i listen to your podcast while walking on the street with my baby and his carriage. It is the only free time i have.
Actually i have two questions. I have noticed that the most frequently used word of you both is the word awesome😊. As i know (and as my dictionary says) that it means fearsome, awful, terrible. But in the context i understand that you use it in a good sense when something good has happened. Explain please when to use this word and how to understand if something good has happened or not😄?
And also i would like my little son Damir who is 8 months old to speak English when he become older. Maybe you have some advises for parrents how and when to start learning English with their babies!
Thank You in advance. And Damir says Hallo to you😋.
