Ratings and Reviews
Old app just needed a few updates
I love using Etsy in general but there was just no need for this new app and I wish they had asked the users’ opinion before deciding to delete the old app for this replacement.
Whilst I do really like some of the new features, the original app functions much better and is a lot more user friendly. The only thing I don’t use the original app for is creating a new listing. For this I go on the Etsy website because there are a few more options.
The new app still has a few function problems, like the issue with messages several other people have mentioned, but I assume these will be fixed before deleting the original one.
I also personally don’t like the change in text size on several pages. It’s much too small and I struggle with some parts.
This app is generally a lot more complicated to use. They appear to have tried to make it more like a website rather than an app, which just doesn’t work well on mobile devices.
Simplicity is the way to go.
I’m not sure why they have decided to completely change the app rather than just performing small updates over time to the original app, like all other apps do. Small changes over time are easier to adapt to.
Overall, the new app has some great new features but is less user friendly.
disgustingly inefficient
the orders page is horrible. you can now only see EITHER the dispatch date or the order date. I WANT TO SEE BOTH. it no longer says the number of days left until dispatch- if it does i can’t see it. i don’t know what date it is today! i want to know that i have 3 days left for an order. if they order 2+ items you can’t tell what they are at a glance. everything requires more scrolling. it’s full of blank spaces. the settings menu is so spaced out compared to the old one, you didn’t even need to scroll before as you could see all the settings in one view. the stats are more taps away when that’s one of the main pages of interest. why on earth are etsy forcing people to move to this unintuitive inefficient garbage. like seriously what do they gain from this? i don’t understand this as a business decision.
the least they could’ve done was improve the stats and make the finance page more accessible. instead they’ve made almost everything worse. why?
Needs improving
While the new app is ok, it’s not as good as the old one. The pictures on the listing page are much too small; if you filter the listers to show sold items, it only lists in alphabetical order not item most recently sold. However you can filter on recent activity, but that mixes up active items and sold items. It really needs improvement. It took me ages to find where I shared an item to Pinterest. I though it might be in the listings screen, but no, there’s an area called explore where you do that.
When I dispatch an item, I couldn’t find my delivery messages, it just showed the default message which I had to end up changing…
It’s a shame you’re removing the old app next month as this one still needs a few tweaks
