Awesome so far
The few problems I’ve had and ended up needing more assistance than I could offer (lol), I’ve gotten on Apple Support with no problems at all. When initially getting on and choosing an option of how I wanted to contact Apple Support, I choose the one that best suites me; I always click on the option of having a real person call me back. & you know, I always got a call back within just a couple of minutes!! The people that have called and helped me through my issues, whether it be simple or very technical for me, someone from Apple has gotten the job done in assisting me and was always very nice about the whole ordeal as well!! So thank you to the men and women at Apple for all of your help, until my next tech endeavor 🤙🏼
Apple is the new BMW
I’ve been using my iPhone X for 3 years and FaceID suddenly stopped working. I thought it was a surface scratch. After bringing it into Apple Store University Village (Case ID ) for diagnose, it was found to be a hardware failure. I was told I can’t change the broken FaceID sensor, but instead have to change my entire phone. I asked to speak to the manager and they suggested trade-in or buying new iPhone. I purchased my phone at $999+tax and Apple wants me to do a trade-in for $280, because of their fault with the hardware defect. The associate says this happens and that there’s nothing he can do unless I have Apple Care.
This unveiled a few things: Apple wants to juice me for my money by getting me to buy the new iPhone or buy Apple care, and they use this money for profit instead of making good hardware. They intentionally design for Obsolescence. How can I be expected to shell out $999 every few years just because Apple wants me to milk me? This is like BMW, they design for 4 years and after that the car has problems every few months. Same with Apple, they design for the phone to fail every 2-3 years use so that you upgrade to the next phone.
I might finally be done with Apple.
Imagine being a loyal Mac user for 20 years. Purchasing multiple MacBooks, an iMac, all that extra RAM, a dozen iPhones (most of which never broke, except the 6... which literally exploded), and countless accessories from Apple Stores all over the world (cuz sometimes they’re much cheaper in other countries). Then, a Software update crashes your 12-year-old iMac. It won’t boot up. Ever. You schedule a Genius Bar appointment. It gets canceled because of a global pandemic. Six months later, you finally get an appointment, which gets canceled with no explanation (turns out to be because of poor air quality), so you schedule another. An actual live person from the Apple Store calls you to confirm. You explain what you’ve gone through and just want to know if the appointment will actually finally happen. Then you’re told that the genius won’t even attempt to check your iMac because it’s model is too old and therefore “obsolete.” What an appropriate word.
